Marcus Morris Sr Knicks Agree To Contract In Nba Free Agency Updated Depth Chart

Marcus Morris Sr., Knicks Agree to Contract in NBA Free Agency; Updated Depth Chart

Marcus Morris Sr. Signs with the Knicks

Marcus Morris Sr. has agreed to a one-year, $16.3 million contract with the New York Knicks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a player option for the 2023-24 season.

Morris, 33, is a veteran forward who has played for seven different teams in his 12-year NBA career. He averaged 11.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Morris's Fit with the Knicks

Morris is a versatile forward who can play both power forward and small forward. He is a good three-point shooter and has a knack for scoring in the post. He is also a tough defender who can guard multiple positions.

Morris will likely start at power forward for the Knicks, alongside Julius Randle at center and RJ Barrett at small forward. He will provide the Knicks with a much-needed veteran presence and leadership.

Knicks' Updated Depth Chart

With the addition of Morris, the Knicks' depth chart now looks like this:

  • Point guard: Jalen Brunson, Immanuel Quickley
  • Shooting guard: Evan Fournier, Quentin Grimes
  • Small forward: RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish
  • Power forward: Marcus Morris Sr., Obi Toppin
  • Center: Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson

The Knicks have a solid starting lineup, but their depth is still a bit of a question mark. The addition of Morris will help, but they could still use another reliable wing player and a backup point guard.
