Larry Elliott’s column (“I’ve got news for those born after 1998: Brexit won’t work”, 8 December) makes two main arguments: first, that only those born before 1998 could vote on Brexit so there is no conceivable way of knowing which way 18- to 24-year-olds would have voted; and second, that the extent of economic damage from Brexit has been made clear by the Office for Budget Responsibility. Both of these arguments are profoundly misleading.
